La Fabbrica della Ceramica werd in 1960 opgericht door Giovanni Desimone in Palermo (Sicilië) Er werden aanvankelijk serviesgoed en decoratieve tegels geproduceerd, later ook vazen, schalen, kruiken en bekers, veelal uitgevoerd met grafische, veelkleurige decoraties, geïnspireerd door primitivisme en het kubisme.(Picasso)
Desimone overleed in 1991;

Jonasz-design at Loads 040 in Eindhoven, Nederland.
The Ceramiche Artistiche F.lli Fanciullacci , opgericht door Raffaello Fanciullacci in 1862 onder de naam Fornace Bardi Capraia, maakte aanvankelijk alleen eenvoudige tafel- en keukenbenodigdheden , kruiken en apothekersvazen maar ging geleidelijk ook artistiek majolica maken.
Rond 1870 hadden zijn zoons, de gebroeders Raffaello,Enrico en Demetrio de leiding over de zaak overgenomen en de naam gewijzigd in Ceramiche Artistiche F.lli Fanciullacci. Vanaf 1920 groeide het bedrijf enorm door. Modern, futuristisch, cubistisch, avant-garde, Art Nouveau, Art-Déco waren de thema’s van hun items. In 1966 werd door een overstroming van de Arno een groot deel van de fabriek verwoest en kostbare mallen vernietigd.

Wall lamp RAAK; atmospheric wall lamp made of thick-walled glass parts in the atmosphere of the well-known “Chartres” lamp by Willem van Oyen for “RAAK” 1960’s Holland.
32x 26 x 12 cm.
Soft-toned thick glass plates with pieces of white and coral red glass glued together on a base of black lacquered wood & metal on which two fittings for the light bulbs.
The thick glass makes it heavy; the weight is almost 3 kilos.
